"Captain Al-Hilly worked for me as company representative on the Accommodation vessel Gulmar "Badaro" in 2008 and did an excellent job. He was pro-active, communicated very well, sorted out issues on the vessel, provided good technical support and managed the vessel situation offshore very well indeed. He developed a very good working relationship with BG Tunisia and Gulmar personnel and he had a good working relationship with the Platform Managers and Project team personnel. The accommodation vessel was essential to the success of the Miskar Field planned shutdown. Captain Al-Hilly was a key player in the success of the DP2 vessel "Badaro" especially when one of the Badaro thrusters failed immediately before the start of the shutdown. Challenging times.

More recently Ahmed has been assisting BG Tunisia (on contract through our head office in the UK) with advice on our emergency evacuation rescue vessels and supply vessel requirements and our overall Marine strategy. This has been a great help and helped save BGT significant amounts of money in vessel charter costs. The marine strategy looks at all vessels being used including those supporting Drilling. I was surprised to see that Captain Al-Hilly had left BG. The assistance he was providing to BGT was very beneficial.
